A memorable Memorial Monday

But first ... Brown trout on the grill last night!
This morning David went fishing with a friend at an ungodly early hour. (I stayed in bed!) They came back with three Northern Pike and several catfish.
Afterward, we all went to lunch at the family home of several other friends and bosses. They have a beautiful home, so relaxing and peaceful on a lake.
Their hummingbird feeder was quite active, with ten or more hummers buzzing around it and our heads as we ate!
Our host was a very talented wood carver, altho he said that arthritis prevents him now from doing it. I was just amazed at the beauty and detail he put into his work, all carved from single pieces of wood. The hobos were his first pieces of work before he moved on to the birds and fish, and I love "Sharin' Sharon and Florida."
Finally, on the way home, we stopped at White River Flowage where we saw a black bear crossing the river. No pictures, unfortunately, because I was too busy saying "Look, it's a bear, it's a bear!" to think about taking a picture until it had gone into the woods.
