the end of august ...

 a flower i'd not seen before, common toadflax linaria vulgaris

aragorn, gracie and i watched a fat grey squirrel gathering green acorns and burying them after taking the caps off of them. he left the caps by where he buried them, as if to mark where they were, although i don't think they will help much when everything is under three feet of snow this winter

the leaves of this have a strong scent when crushed and i can't quite identify it. minty, but more than just that.
