in 5 ... doubt

we doubt
when we are afraid
we doubt
when we don't trust
we doubt
when we want to believe ...
but we've been hurt so much before

doubt is a destroyer
when we let it creep into our thoughts,
it is as if we pour sour milk into our coffee
and at the first sip, instead of spitting it out and getting a fresh cup
we continue to drink it, grimacing at the taste
but not wanting to admit that it has soured

stepping out in faith at times is terrifying
but only if you doubt
because when you walk with your eyes looking forward
at the promise tomorrow will bring,
it is hard to look down and lose faith

  1. I really like this. It is something I need to share with my 14 year old daughter. When the time is right. ... teens are so .... well, touchy, for lack of a better word. I just need her to know to believe in herself and the path God is showing her.

Thank you for stopping by to read about our adventures!
