bond falls flowage...

Sunday afternoon we spent a few hours just cruising the reservoir (i learned something new today... a "flowage" in the terms used in the Upper Peninsula is another word for reservoir) ~ it is HUGE, roughly 2,100 acres of water surface with a little over 20 miles of shoreline, not counting the many islands in the flowage.  the deepest points are about 40 feet where the water after the dam was built overtook existing lakes

this is a family of [Common Mergansers] ... mom and four little ones.  it was hard to get close to them for a picture because we didn't want to panic everyone
these are [Water Smartweed], they were a beautiful pink color and had little turquoise blue [Familiar Bluet] damselflies everywhere on them.
